If you want to bring your own SIP trunk there are a few steps that need to be followed.

This guide explains:
- What information needs to be shared with your phone service provider

- What information Connectel needs from your phone service provider in order to configure the SIP trunk from our end

- How to set up the trunks in the admin interface in Connectel

What information needs to be shared with your phone service provider

1. The carrier must create a SIP-trunk and point it towards the DNS yourcompany.connectel.io or the DNS IP-address.
By default Connectel will use 5060/UDP for signalling and 10000-20000/UDP for media.

What information Connectel needs from your phone service provider

1. Send the SIP signaling and media IP-addresses of the SIP trunk to your Customer Success Manager. Ask your phone service provider for this information. This information is needed for Connectel to allow the phone service provider to communicate with our services.

How to set up the trunks in the admin interface in Connectel

1. Creating the trunk

Sign into the admin interface and go to Tools -> Trunks. Click the + button in the bottom right corner. Continue to add the trunk:

- Add a name
- Enable Active
- Under Host add the SIP signaling address or DNS

- Leave the rest of the fields empty or add an optional Description. The Registry field should only be filled in if your telco provider requires it

2. Configuring the trunk

Click the three dots next to the trunk and then Edit Trunk:

Go to the tab Advanced and change the setting From Domain and set it to the DNS name of the instance. For example yourcompany.connectel.io:

No other settings need to be changed.
Click Save.

Don't forget to ask your telco provider to provide you with a test number, so you can easily test phone calls in the system (to test IVR's, Queue settings, Agent interface etc.)

3. Next, follow the steps in below guides to set up Inbound Voice:
- Getting Started: Inbound Voice

Or for Outbound voice, follow these guides:

- Getting Started: Motion Bull (Dialer)
